There is more good news about the future of titanium. Ilmenite, (FeTiO3) one of the two main sources of the element, was found to exist in moon rocks. In 2005, the Hubble Space Telescope pinpointed numerous potential ilmenite sites on the moon. This means that natural lunar resources for iron, titanium, and oxygen are there and waiting for man to mine them.
